All About Me

We started our All About Me unit on the idea that We love ourselves and We are Special.
We looked in a mirror and noticed our eyes, mouth, nose, hair, and even clothing.

Morah taught us that there is only one "Me" in the world and I Look special in my own way.

Morah taught us that we have two eyes. Some eyes are blue, some are brown, and some are green. We all have different colored eyes and we all look special in our own way.

Morah showed us an eye color chart and a the mirror where we can look at what color our eyes are.

We all got a turn to look at our eyes in the mirror and pick a colored marker that matched our eye color. We then got to use the marker to color in a box on the chart.

Morah counted how many children have brown eyes, green eyes, and blue eyes. We noticed that more children have brown eyes in our class.

We looked at our eye color chart and picked the color crayon that matches our eyes. Then we went to the table to color the eyes green, brown, or blue.

Morah also taught us that we have different colored hair that makes us look special.
Morah made a chart on the white board of all the different colored hair possibilities. We got to pick which one matched our hair and put our picture on the chart.

We have 6 children with brown hair, 6 children with blonde hair, and 1 child with red hair.
Since we learned so much about how Special we all look. Morah's added a new game to our sensory table and puzzle area. In the Sensory table is Rice and in the rice is different parts of a face like eyes and mouths. The children loved finding them hidden in the rice and sticking them to the boy and girl face on the wall.

In the puzzle center Morah's put some faces with eyes, nose, mouth, glasses, and much more so the children can have fun making different faces.

Morah's read many book to us
