Rosh Hashana

Rosh Hashana

This week we continue learning about the holiday of Rosh Hashana, the beginning of the new Jewish year.
We were also busy working on our beautiful projects for the holiday so we can take home to share with our families.

We made a dish for the apples and honey.
Another custom for for Rosh Hashana is to listen to the sound of a shofar. It reminds us to do allot of mitzvot. We learned that a Shofar is made from the horns of a Sheep.

Morah Leah blew the Shofar and it made a very loud sound.

We really enjoyed making our very own Shofar. We painted the Shofar in the color BROWN.

On Rosh Hashana we also eat Pomegranate- Their are 613 seeds inside or almost as much, symbolizing the 613 mitzvos in the Torah.

We then got to taste the pomegranate.

On ROSH HASHANA we wish each other to have a great sweet year by sending cards to each other. We made special cards to send by mail to our mommies & daddies.
