These past 2 weeks we started learning about the
Season Winter
We learned that in the Winter it starts to get very cold
We worked together to help change Sammy (our weather boys) clothes from fall clothing to Winter clothing
Morah showed us a bog box full of Winter clothes.
Clothing that keeps us warm.
Clothing that keeps us warm.
We found a scarf |
It helps keep our neck warm |
We found Dori's Sweater that we can wear to keep us warm |
We found some mittens/gloves to keep our hands warm
|
We found some Winter boots to keep our feet warm |
Benjamin and Morah Rivky showed us the fur in their boots to keep us warm |
We learned that in the winter it can SNOW
Morah read the book called "One Snowy Day" that was all about how to build a snowman.
Morah worked together with the children to go through the steps of the book and draw a snowman
Morah then showed us the Small ball, Medium ball, and Large ball. We worked together to put the balls in order to build a snowman.
We put on the Snowman's button eyes, carrot nose, and Cherrio mouth on the small snow ball.
We then got to work in two groups. One group cut white paper and glued it to the medium snowball. The other group used their hands to smear white glue and shaving cream all over the big snow ball.
After decorating the three different size snowballs we worked in groups to make the Snowman's hat, scarf, branches arms, and mittens.
We put smiley stickers on the hat, foam shape stickers on the scarf, we colored the branches, and dot painted the mittens.
We named our snowman "SNOWY"
Morah put in our sensory table White packing peanuts for us to play with. Now it looks like it's snowing in our classroom.
Morah taught us that snow falls from the sky in the shape of a snow flake. It's hard to see them because it is so small.
We all got to choose either a blue or white snow flake and we got to glue on special small shiny papers to it.
