Our Community and Shul

This week we continued learning about our Neighborhood. We reviewed what we learned about our home and School and continued learning about our Shul (synagogue).

Morah showed us a book about Shul.
We learned that in shul is an Aron and inside it is the Torah.
We have a small one in our classroom that has our Torah.

Morah showed us that inside the Torah is the Hebrew Aleph Bais
We also learned that in the Shul is the Rabbi.
We went to the Shul for a special trip to visit the Rabbi and see the Torah's inside the Aron.
We each gave the Torah a kiss as the Rabbi carried it out of the Aron

Everyone got a turn to go up to the Bima and find there First Hebrew letter in the Torah.

Thank You Rabbi Dovid Okonov for the very special Trip.
On the way back downstairs from the Shul we found a Star.

We worked together to put Jewish Star stickers on our Shul

We learned the word COMMUNITY.

Morah showed us 13 different stores/places in the community.
We had to guess which place is which based on Morahs clues.
Each of us picked one place in our community (fire station, police station, bakery, vet, library, school, home, shul, hospital, post office, Etc.) and used water color paint to decorate our place in the community.

Morah showed us different community helpers. We had to guess which helper works/belongs to which place in our community.

Chaim Tal was wearing a doctor shirt just like one of our community helpers
We all picked a community helper and worked hard coloring it by trying to stay in the lines.

We also worked together by glueing white papers on black paper to make the street of our community
