What's New in Nursery 1: Our Community... Home and School

We Learned the word Neighborhood.

In our Neighborhood we have our House, our School, and a Shul (synagogue).

We started by talking about our School Mazel (Which starts with the letter M).

We reviewed our classroom schedule and all that we do in school. We spoke about our Morah's and how they help us in school.

We worked together to color (using colored pencils) and sticker our school to hang on the wall.

We read a Book called "I Go To School".

Morah showed us a box that looked like Mazel Day School.

Morah introduced us to different dolls and gave them each a name. One was Morah leah and the other was Morah Rivky. Morah put them in the Mazel day school box to help and play with all the children in the Nursery class.

Morah also introduced us to different dolls of people that work in our school. Alicia, Ms. Inna, Isabel, and Mr. Gena. Morah told us that they help us in our school but we dont know how they help us. Lets go and ask them "How do you help us?"

First we went to visit Alicia. We asked her "How do you help us?"

Alicia sits at the front desk and says "Hello" to us in the morning. She also calls our mommy's and daddy's to tell them how we are doing in school. Alicia presses some buttons and opens the door for us to get into our classroom. She also can make us copies on the printer.

Alicia showed us how she put the paper in the top and where the paper comes out after it makes a copy.

We went to visit Ms. Inna. We asked her "How do you help us?"

Ms. Inna helps book our trips and make sure we have all our classroom materials (glue, scissors, and markers).

We went to Isabel and asked her "How do you help us?"

Isabel helps us by making our lunch ready and bringing it to our classroom. She also cleans up our classroom and throws out the garbage.

We went to look for Mr. Gena

When we found him we asked "How do you help us?"

As a special surprise Mr. Gena came to our classroom to show us how he uses his tools to help us by fixing anything that is broken in our school.

He showed us his drill and measuring tape.

We measures the length of a wooden stick

Mr. Gena showed us his drill and screws. He let the us help him make holes in the wood.

Mr. Gena showed us his different tools, His wrench, hammer, and different sized screw drivers.

We got to see his electric tape and how he wraps it around the wood stick to make it soft to touch.

The next place in our neighborhood is our home. Morah spoke about all the different people in our home and we all got a turn to tell Morah how they help us.
