This week we learned all about the Season FALL.
We started by saying good bye to Summer and Hello to Fall.
We looked at the Summer picture and Fall picture and noticed the Differences. In summer the leaves are green, the sun is out, and the flowers are growing. In the Fall the leaves are changing colors, the wind is blowing, and the leaves are falling down.
We looked at our Weather boy and noticed he was still wearing his Summer clothing (Sun glasses, shorts, a tee-shirt, and sneakers). We worked as a team to change his clothing into rain gear because in the fall it is rainy and windy.
We continued learning about the trees in the fall. We learned some new vocabulary words, Bark, branches, and leaves, the different parts of a tree.
Morah Rivky brought in a real piece of a Bark of a tree and we all got a turn to pass it around to see what it feels like.
We reviewed the color Brown and got to use our fine motor skills to use Rubbing Crayons to make our bark of the tree Brown.
Concept # 1 about Fall: We learned that in the Fall it is windy and the leaves fall from the trees.
Morah Rivky brought in a bag of real leaves and we all got a turn to pretend we are trees. We held a bunch of leaves in our hands and because it is fall we let them go and watched them fall.
Morah Leah read us a book about the leaves falling down and we got to play with the leaves and throw them and watch them fall.
We learned a Fall Song about all the leaves falling down:
All the leaves are falling down,
Falling down, Falling down.
All the leaves are falling down
Down to the Ground.
We added Fall books and Big brother books to our classroom Library.
Concept # 2 about fall: Leaves Change Colors in the Fall
We learned a new color: Orange
We looked at the color orange on our flash cards. We Noticed that some leaves can be Orange.
We used our Gross motor skills to throw and catch a ball to find the color orange.
Noya found orange on the ball. |
Nir caught the ball with two hands |
Illana found Orange on the ball |
Daniella found Orange too. |
We learned a new Rhyme:
