Fall continues...

Concept # 3 about Fall: In the Fall different things fall from the trees

We learned that leaves fall from the trees in the fall. We also learned that Pine Cones fall from the trees too.
We pretended that the leaves and pine cones were falling from the tree. Morah Rivky read us a book about different things that fall from the trees.

Morah Rivky showed us different kinds of colored leaves and pine cones. Some pine cones were big and some were small. Morah Rivky added all the leaves, pine cones, branches, and a few pieces of the bark of the tree to our sensory table so we play with them and feel the different textures.

We learned that APPLES grow in the summer and Fall from the trees in the Fall.

We learned about the Stem of an apple and that the apples are hanging from the branches of the tree.

We learned about the seeds of the apple and if you plant it in the ground after a lot of time an Apple tree grows. There are lots of Apples on the branches of the apple trees.

Morah Rivky cut open a real apple and we were so excited to find the seeds inside the apple.
We passed around the apple seed.

Morah Rivky reviewed the different part of the tree with us. We looked at the bark, we looked at the branches, and we looked at the leaves.

Morah Rivky demonstrated how we were going to color the bark Brown
Morah Rivky then showed us all an orange leaf and we talked about where we can put it on our project. We can put our leaf at the top still attached to the tree or falling down because in the fall the leaves fall down.

We all got to work coloring our bark brown and putting down our leaf.

Then Aaron Said "APPLE".  Morah Rivky thought that he is right Apples can fall from the trees too. She went to bring us some apple stickers that we put on our projects either on the tree or at the bottom because in the fall apples fall from the trees.

In the block center we added soft pretend leaves so we can play with.

Matthew built a tree with leaves on it

Morah leah read us some books about different kinds of trees

Concept # 4 about Fall: Leaves are different (different shapes and sizes)

We learned that some leaves are pointy and some leaves round. Some leaves are big and some are small.

One side of the leaf is soft and the other side is bumpy

Morah Rivky showed us how she taped a leaf to one side of a paper and if we use a crayon on the other side a magical leaf will appear. All the children got a turn to make a leaf appear.

The Season Fall

Next week will be going to the Park to look at the trees and leaves we are all very excited for our first class trip.
